PHOENIX 4.0 Call for Competition: Strong response across Europe
29.04.2026SparksThe PHOENIX 4.0 Call for Competition was open from 15 January to 18 March, inviting tourism SMEs and their partners to come together and develop collaborative projects addressing some of the most pressing challenges in the sector today.
Through this call, we were looking for innovative, practical and partnership-based solutions that contribute to greater resilience, sustainability, digitalisation, accessibility, and overall competitiveness of tourism SMEs. The strong response clearly shows that these priorities resonate across Europe.
In total, we received 177 applications, reflecting a high level of interest and engagement from all participating countries and regions:
- Catalonia (Spain): 39
- Dubrovnik (Croatia): 14
- France: 19
- Iceland: 10
- Kosovo: 35
- Other regions of Spain: 30
- Slovenia: 30
All proposals have now been carefully evaluated by independent experts, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process. Applicants have already received their official notifications, marking an important milestone in the process.
In the coming weeks, we will publish the final results and begin the signature of grant agreements with the selected SMEs. This will officially launch the next phase of the programme — the implementation of the selected projects.
We are truly looking forward to working closely with the selected partnerships in the months ahead and to following how their ideas evolve into tangible solutions with real impact on the ground. These projects will not only support individual businesses but will also contribute to a stronger, more connected and future-ready tourism ecosystem.
Stay tuned and follow the PHOENIX 4.0 website for the official results and further updates.
